The key to my heart, started in 2005 with collecting handwritten love letters and an investigation for “The lost romantic of the written word”.

I started this collection with the simple question “Do you have love letters?”

These letters are visualized in the installation “The key to my heart”. The letters have been written in different periods, from the 1940’s (Second World War) in the form of a handwritten letter up till now in the form of a text message (SMS).

The concepts that play a part in the installation belong to the various persons behind the letters. Like Light in the darkness, Suffocation, Forbidden love, Distance, Doubt, Mortality.

The key to my heart presentation during [in] visible # 4, Investigating forms of presentation of the Artist Book. The installation was placed in a small intimate space where the visitors can touch and read sentences at close. Transience: text messages from the 2000’s are continuing to read on the Magic ball up on the desktop. A Mobile phone (desk draw number 4) makes contact with the Magic ball.
